waterbaby

Colin is a big fan of water. He loves to take shower, drink from his 'Anti Spill Drinking Bottle' and play in puddles. Of all the water activities, his favourite is SWIM. Whenever we mention the "magic" word, he will run to the back room and grap his 'blue sea creatures' swimming trunks and 'Bob The Builder' towel from the lower drawer. Once, he did it in such a hurry that he accidently hurt his finger while closing the drawer! Ever since, before we are REALLY CERTAIN of taking him swimming, we will spell the word in our questions- Are we taking Colin to S.W.I.M?
Last Saturday, my sis took Colin to our pool in Aman Suria. My dad usually takes Colin to swim after his work (it's not a myth, some people has 'good life' and reaches home at 5pm sharp). I decided to follow them and watch him play.

Oh another thing, Colin LOVES to pose for cameras! Heee....

Do Something New

My friend was feeling down and homesick (she's far far away in Perth), so I went surfing around for fun things she can do. Came across this 'wheel of new things to do':

http://www.ivillage.co.uk/dosomethingnew/

'Make January exciting this year with our Do Something New Challenge. From becoming a wine buff, learning a circus trick or smiling at everyone you see, to tattooing a banana - we've some great ideas to banish those January blues. And why not sign up for our daily Challenge alert? Every day an inspirational new idea will wing its way straight to your inbox. Happy January!'

I gave it a spin, see what I got as my Today's Challenge:
Grow an avocado
Open the avocado and remove the seed. Rinse and blot dry. Carefully push three toothpicks into the thickest width of the seed. Suspend the seed over a glass filled with water. The water should cover the base of the seed by about 5cm. Place the glass on a bright window sill and within three to eight weeks a sprout should emerge from the top of the seed. Then you are ready to plant your avocado in a pot.

Errm...can we grow avocado in Malaysia? Oh well...

CH, hope this will keep you busy :) Cheer up k?

When one wants to relax n unwind after a long day...

....one must
1) Take a looong warm shower with Neutrogena Rainbath (for those like me who wants rain shower head for christmas...just close your eyes and imagine the water flow downwards.....)
2) Fill your room with the sound of Chris Botti's trumpet....ahh...yes, you will feel like Love Again....it won't make a difference if it's Non-Pirated CD played with a CD Radio Clock (am cheating myself again...I wish wish wish for the 5k Hi Fi)
3) Then...lie down with your eyes closed.....

zzzzzz

Time for bed. Off Lights.

Nah!

Quite some time ago, a good friend passed a comment that I don't post pictures of my significant other. So today, I decide to do just so- and to spice things up, let me show you the places we visited in HK (Yes, I don't spend 24 hours makaning only yaaa...heeee).

One our first day, we joined the 'free' half day tour of HK. DO NOT EVER GO! Not only do they force you to pay for TIPS at THEIR RATE, u'll end up paying them RM170 for your picture in a reallllyy cheezy 'Hong Kong' plate!
Although we started off at the wrong foot, Hong Kong still managed to capture my heart, I think I'm in love with this city (ok, not my first love- has to be after New York and Prague heee.). The rest of the ' On Our Own' touring was much more fun.....we strolled along the harbour (ahh..I just love the watching the Ferry...). Here's the pic I've set as my wallpaper, one of my best shots (yes, there's HAZE in HK...ish)....

Avenue of Star was DEAD BORING, please do not be deceived by our smiles....ok maybe D is having a good time...dancing heee....

I love HK in the night...hearing laughters of ppl walking along the streets, my face seduced by the cool winter breeze, romantic ferry ride (yes I'm ferry crazy)....

And our last touristy destination....HK's latest 2006 attraction...Cable Car Ride to see the Bronze Buddha. Buddha was very kind to belanja me Magnum ice-cream- for each ticket entry. But first, you must do the walk of faith up to greet him...many steps, you have been warned...
I will be back!

Senseless Chinese Comedies

D has this passion of watching 60's/70's/80's Chinese comedies. He has a large collection of DVDs by his world fav actor, Mr. Chow Seng Chee (also known as Stephen Chow)- the ones I recognise are only Shaolin Soccer and God of Cookery. Frankly, I've given up watching Chinese comedies. I tell you why.

1) Fails to amuse me from start to end.
Maybe its a requirement for comedies to start funny, repeat the jokes (or exaggerate till it's so lame that u go 'huh?') then wrap up with a real stupid ending (then u feel that u been conned for 1.5 hours).
2) Same jokes
Maybe there should be a rule that jokes previously used by the same actor must not be repeated used 'toooo often' else penalty cost applies.

Yesterday night, we watched this ghostly comedy, which is again STUPID. The events took place in a flat which is infested by Ghosts. The landlady hired a 'ghostbuster monk' to catch these ghosts which all were caught and locked in the basement (doors secured with rectangular yellow worded papers) except a lady ghost. The main topic of the story is the lady ghost chasing individuals around the flat:
- A team of 3 undercover lady cops acting as prostitute to solve a money scandal
- The bad guy himself
- Chief Police Officer (in charge of the scandal case)
- Husband to one of the lady cops, thinking his wife having an affair with the Chief Police Officer
- Ghostbuster monk

In the middle of the show, the lady ghost's head was separated from her body, then her head was chasing everyone around the flat. They managed to trap her, she got so angry and used her power to explode her head, so that the blood will stick to them- within 3 minutes time, all the ghosts nearby will come haunt them. Ok, that's when I fell asleep (it's 1:30am, dead tired). D told me the story ended with these ppl turning into Fairies and killed all the ghosts. OK......erm.

No more Chinese Comedies for the following months.

Toh Leong and Joyce ties the knot!

Can't think of anything more exciting to welcome the New Year! With good traffic on our side (most ppl are outstation for the long holidays), D and I manage to arrive 'on time'at Holiday Villa, Subang Jaya to witness the loving couple waltz into the banquet hall. It's always been my favourite part of weddings. It feels like the worries of the world freezes for us all to absorb the radiance from 2 very sincerely happy ppl (all happened in slow motion, as the couple takes baby steps towards the stage...) It's also an auspicious sign that I'll be fed soon...heee.....I took shots with my camera phone- of ALL shots the ones of their back is the sharpest :( Oh well, I'll post the top two best shots here and keep the readers suspense..hee...
The wedding dinner started out with a dance to 'Swan Lake' (or was it the nutcracker suite?) by two lovely little ballerina girls whom later 'danced down stage' to usher the lovely couple for their grand entrance. Holiday Villa has a very unique way to welcome the food to the hall. There was a short sketch about the couple (in the form of swans), which both male and female swans shyly kissed and later 6 baby swans appears at the background. TL and Joyce need to be busy soon if the 6 swans are true. After I turned away from the stage, the cold and hot combi dish was already on the table. Very very magical indeed!
After the cake cutting and champagne pouring (my pics are ALL BLUR..haihz!), family toasting and a short & sweet speech from TL, the loving couple did their 'table by table toasting' ritual. I have to agree with D that MK, YB, KL, KM & 'another guy whom I do not know' are very KAU HENG TAI (hope I got it right in canto)...as they diligently followed the couple to toast at every table! It's not an easy job to hold the wine glass high and scream 'YAAAMMM SENGGGG' at the top of the lungs! *salute* TL u know what to do horrr..
It seems like only yesterday that we were in Manchester, partying hard as young undergraduates (am not going into detail, it will take days..heee). We all came as a group from KDU Manchester Twinning Programme and with good faith, the guys met TL at Grosvenor Place and clicked as best buddies till today. TL & Joyce, congratulation once again & may your path be filled with joy and God's blessings all year round!YAM SENG for the future & cepat cepat multiply!
